Kitchen Cabinet Refacing
Refacing Q & A
Q : Is It Cheap Looking?
A : It’s true that some older refaced kitchens looks
cheap and plastic, but Ramelli Building & Remodeling also offers refacing
products in solid wood door designs and veneer plywood for the face frames. Add
in solid wood crown molding and we can turn any kitchen into a high end kitchen
Q : How Much Does it Cost?
A : A guideline to pricing is counting your doors
and drawer fronts and multiply that number by 200. This is a rough estimate of
what our standard refacing package would cost, although the price may vary
depending on wood, color and amenities chosen for your kitchen. Remember this
includes the labor of removing your old doors and drawer fronts, hauling the
debris away and installing your new doors and drawer fronts leaving with you
little mess and brand new kitchen.
Q : My drawers do not slide and are falling apart.
Can I have new drawers?
A : We include new drawers and glides with our
standard refacing package. You can upgrade the drawer box to a solid wood
dovetailed box as well.
Q : Can I add rollout drawers to my lower cabinets?
A : Yes, we add them all the time to lower cabinets.
Q : My cabinets are falling apart, can they be
repaired?
A : Most cabinets can and are repaired for refacing,
but if a cabinet is truly beyond repair we can build a new cabinet the same size
as the damaged one and replace it before refacing.
Q : Can I add new cabinets to create an island and
make them look the same as the ones that are being refaced.
A : Absolutely! You can go one step further and
finish the island in a complimentary finish as you see in some high end
kitchens. For example, if you are refacing your cabinets in a white finish,
your island can be finished in walnut or mahogany. It’s all up to you.
Q : How about counters? Do I have to change them
now?
A : No. We reface kitchens after the counters have
been replaced and have replaced counters after cabinets have been refaced.
Q : Do you tile backsplashes?
A : Yes, that can be part of your refacing package.
We also install tile and wood floors and even provide painting services.
Q : I would like add recessed lighting. Can you do
that without damaging the ceiling?
A : It depends if there is an attic above your
kitchen. We have installed recessed lighting in the kitchen ceiling from the
attic without damaging the ceiling. If there rooms above your kitchen we can
still add the lighting and then drywall over the existing ceiling and tape and
paint.
